Fall Festival

Come to the Fall Festival!
Thursday, October 16: 4:00-6:00 PM

Location: All Over PAS! (enter through blacktop)

The Fall Festival is a family-fun evening with carnival games, face painting, photo booth, balloon animals, a bouncy obstacle course, crafts, books and prizes, food and scrumptious homemade treats, and memories that last a lifetime.

We need ample volunteer help to make this event a success. Sign up for a volunteer shift HERE. Volunteers who take a shift on the day of the festival will get 10 FREE tickets! We are also requesting homemade treats to sell and donated supplies such as cases of snacks, water bottles, juice boxes, paper products, etc.

Pre-order discounted tickets (40 for $15) HERE. Tickets will be available for purchase (2 for $1) on the day of the festival.

Please note that children in grades Kindergarten - 4th must be accompanied by an adult.

School Advisory Council Meeting

 

Monday, October 27 at 6:00 PM

Location: Cafeteria, enter through Blacktop

 
School Advisory Council (SAC) meets once a month and is a forum for discussion and collaboration with the PAS administration on school-based decision making with a focus on student achievement, school improvement, effective teaching, and parent and community engagement, communication, and support. Meetings are typically held on the third Monday of the month and are open to everyone in the school community. To learn more about Penn Alexander’s SAC and review a list of SAC members, please visit the SAC website. The first SAC meeting of the year will be paired with Coffee with the Principal. Pizza and childcare provided!

Pretzel Day

Pretzel Days Scheduled!

Pretzel Day is a beloved PAS tradition for the children. This year we will have one per month, on occasional Thursdays, for a total of 10 Pretzel Days. The first one is September 25.
 
Pre-pay deadline: Sunday, October 26.
After the deadline, students can buy pretzels the day of with $2 cash.
 
On the same payment form, you can pre-pay for dress-down days which support various charitable causes chosen by members of Student Council.

Dominoes & La Cultura

Domino Tournament for Kids in Grades 5-8

Thursday, October 23: 6:00-7:30 PM

Location: PAS Atrium (enter through main entrance)

Join University of Pennsylvania Student Groups CAUSA (the Cuban American Undergraduate Student Association) and Grupo Quisqueyano (the Haitian/Dominican Student Association) to celebrate the game played in many Latine and Caribbean countries: dominoes! You will learn about Cuban, Dominican, and Haitian culture before learning about and practicing your domino skills with friends in our 3rd annual dominoes tournament.
