Reach Out to your Networks for Potential Board Members for 2025-2027
Time Commitment: approx. 8 hours over 4 months
The HSA is seeking people to serve on the nominating committee to help tap their networks for a diverse group of future board members and guide the elections process. This process is outlined in the HSA bylaws (article 7). The main duty of the nominating committee is to meet once or twice to learn the process and brainstorm names, confirm and advertise the open positions, and reach out one-on-one to potential recruits.
Official Timeline
- January: announcement of the appointment of a Nominating Committee. The Nominating Committee will select its own chairperson.
- February: the Nominating Committee will review / confirm the positions up for election and responsibilities for each role.
- March: any announcements regarding proposed changes to the Board will be proposed and voted on.
- April: communications will be distributed about the open positions, and the membership of the HSA will be encouraged to participate in the roles for election.
- The nomination process will close one week before the May 23 general member HSA board meeting (May 16).
