The Home and School Association of the Sadie Tanner Mossell Alexander University of Pennsylvania Partnership School (HSA of PAS), a 501(c)(3) organization, is made up of you: hard-working parents, caretakers, and educators who support the school through fundraising and volunteerism. All current parents, guardians, faculty, and staff are voting members of the HSA. 

 

The HSA's mission is to help maintain, empower, and further enhance Penn Alexander School in order to provide the best possible learning environment for our children. One of the ways we do that is by raising money to help fill in the gaps. Your donations go right back to our children, our teachers, our classrooms, and/or our school.

 

We are launching 2024-25 Giving Tuesday fundraising with a goal of $75,000 for the general fund. Great news: we already raised almost $10,000 earlier this fall! Once we reach our $75,000 goal, we will stop asking!*
(*We will also ask for teacher and staff donations in December and again in June; we pass 100% of those funds collected through to ALL teachers and staff to show our appreciation for their hard work.)

 

We strive for 100% family participation, with gifts in the past ranging from $1 to $10,000, and once again will be having a Grade Participation Competition. The grade with the highest family participation for making contributions of any amount will receive extra recess! The deadline to be counted in the competition is December 5.

 

As you can see from the pie chart below, the HSA provides a small but critical piece of the total funding pie for Penn Alexander School. Our school is incredibly diverse in many ways. Unfortunately the number of PAS families living below the poverty line is at approximately 50%, but we also have many families who earn a good income. We are hoping everyone can give what they can to support our amazing, top-ranked public school!

 

Your gift supports:

  • The HSA's pledge to contribute $50,000 / year to support the full-time art program
  • Building and playground supplies
  • Teacher and staff appreciation throughout the year
  • Teaching materials including software, books, and supplies
  • Classroom supplies and programming, including science fair and field trips
  • Subsidized expenses so ALL children can participate in everything
2024-2025 Fundraising needs:
  • $75,000 in unrestricted giving to the general fund. Once we hit this goal number, we will stop asking!*
  • $25,000 goal for teacher and staff recognition and giving. Our teacher and staff fundraising allows the HSA to distribute appreciation gifts, ensuring all teachers and staff are acknowledged. 
    *We pass 100% of funds collected through to the teachers and staff and will ask for these donations in December and again in June.
  • 80% family participation: gifts have ranged from $1 - $1,000+
  • Give what fits your budget: no amount is too small!

Penn Employees:

PAS is a local charity for the Penn Giving Campaign - Penn's Way. Through this campaign, Penn will MATCH any donation to PAS until their November 22nd deadline. If you plan to donate to PAS this year, please take advantage of this opportunity for matching through the Penn campaign. Penn will match 100% on every dollar donated!!
